What stays on your PC and what Coalstack talks to.
Updated Oct 30, 2026
Your server's files stay on your own computer unless you turn on an optional remote or cloud feature. The app talks to coalstack.net for things like:
- Account creation, login, and license verification (Supabase Auth)
- License checks and feature gating
- Update checks
- Remote access and admin commands, only if you turn them on
- Modrinth API calls for the Marketplace (proxied through the app, not our servers)
- Downloading server software straight from its publisher when you create a server: Mojang or Microsoft (Vanilla and Bedrock), PaperMC (Paper and Velocity), Fabric, Quilt, Forge, NeoForge, and Adoptium for Java. Crossplay downloads Geyser and Floodgate from GeyserMC. These requests go from the app to them, not through us.
- Anthropic or OpenRouter API calls for AI features (direct from the app)
